Pray for Argentina Over 37 million people live in this country and the capital Buenos Aires has 3.5 million and another 12 million living close by. Urbanization is 88% of the population of Argentina. Australia is 86%.

Argentina is blessed with abundant natural resources. The transformation under President Menem since 1989 has been dramatic. Inflation was tamed, corruption exposed and restructuring promoted, but there is still much poverty. Unemployment is 16%. Prison ministry has revolutionized the nation's jails. Revival began in Olmos high security prison and by 1996 half its 3,000 inmates were believers with the movement spreading to 200 other institutions. | ||

Argentines are predominantly Roman Catholic. Around 93% declare themselves Roman Catholic according to different surveys; the Church estimates an affiliation of 70%. Evangelical churches have grown in Argentina since the 1980s, and now number more than 3.5 million, about 10% of the total population. Pray for Argentina. Also pray for Paraguay & Uruguay
