PRAYING for SPAIN

Pray for Spain

Over 40 million people live in Spain. A country in Europe that has some warmer weather even in winter so a tourist attraction for many. Hence the lyric from My Fair Lady, “The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain”.

During Franco’s dictatorship, Catholicism was the state religion. Equality for Evangelicals, Muslims and Jews was established in 1992. Over 30% of the population, though baptized Catholic, no longer claim any link with Catholicism and a further 40-50% are inactive. Pray for the Church in Spain.

Pray for effective, culturally appropriate methods of outreach and for nation-wide evangelistic strategies to be developed. The effective use of orchestras and musical performances in public and on television by Evangelicals has been one notable avenue used since 1995. Pray also for the growth and development of Spanish mission agencies. Many young people have been enthused for Christian service and missions through the ministry of OM and YWAM. There are 15 seminaries and Bible schools in partnership with World Link Ministries, has launched an extension seminary specifically to train church planters which has proved successful.
