It is comforting to know that the Holy Spirit is our guide if we allow Him to be. He is totally trustworthy and dependable. I can remember coming to
Adelaide as a young person and I had to read the street directory and try to memorize the route I should take. It was hard work which involved a lot of guess work and looking for landmarks but very unreliable and it didn’t go well. When I got married I tried to find places with Kay’s help. You would think this would have been much easier however that wasn‘t our experience. In fact it was harmful for our relationship.
So imagine being able to drive with a voice guiding us. The advent of the GPS has made travelling so much better. Kay & I were riding a motorcycle in India a couple of years ago and Kay had the GPS connected through her phone and she guided me through large cities with a simple touch on my arm.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-14, ESV.
It is so good to know that God helps us through life with the help of His Holy Spirit. It may be as amazing as a touch on the arm or more likely a Bible verse that helps us as we find our way through each day.
