“You know you’re getting old when Santa starts looking younger.” Well that is a bit crazy, but sadly true! However, the truth in God’s Word is what doesn’t change. God is a miracle worker and He brings an abundant life and can enable us to love others, forgive those who hurt us and be healed and restored. The greatest miracle we should give thanks to God for is eternal life. Life in Heaven is offered to all who follow Him.
Reading the following few verses from Luke 1:26-33 we observe a miracle. During Elizabeth’s sixth month of pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin. She was engaged to marry a man named Joseph from the family of David. Her name was Mary. The angel came to her and said, “Greetings! The Lord has blessed you and is with you.” But Mary was very startled by what the angel said and wondered what this greeting might mean. The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary; God has shown you his grace. Listen! You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of King David, his ancestor. He will rule over the people of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will never end.”
Have fun this weekend but remember what is truly important. It is all about the coming of Jesus amongst us and the plan of salvation He brought to the world.
