It is the greatest joy for a believer to go to be with the Lord but for us left behind it can be devastating. We still face the rigours of life and it can be hard to face each day. Death is a constant reminder to us to make the most of today. God is so good to bless us with life, here now and for eternity. Pray for those you know who may be struggling in the loss of a loved one. Keep your eyes on Jesus. It is so easy to be overwhelmed by despair and fear in the world today. Sin, war, cancer and sickness all find a way to steal our hope and cause us to doubt that there is a good future ahead. Yet God promises us that he has plans for us that are of a good future with hope! Through the power of the Holy Spirit, you are able to look forward with joy to God’s destiny on your life.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:25-26 & 33-34
