It is easy to rejoice when things are going well, but when things go bad and we are feeling stressed and beyond reason, it is very hard to be thankful to God. In fact it can be the last thing on our mind. I believe we were meant to live in community and look out for each other so that we can help our brothers and sisters physically and spiritually. If you are feeling overwhelmed with a problem please think about God and His blessings and maybe you’ll find something to rejoice about. If life is good for you, then praise God and rejoice, but think about how you can help a friend in need. Paul gives us direction in the following verses.
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7, ESV.
