Another year is coming to a close and many young people are completing their studies and will be wondering what is the next step for them. Some of you may also be wondering what is the next step for your life. You may be having some work challenges, some ealth issues or you are considering regrets over the past few years. Perhaps there are people who have let you down and you are feeling angry or frustrated about concerns that are beyond your control.
As we read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, we are reminded about how we are to live, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” If we really have a desire to know God’s will for our lives there are 3 very clear words of advice. Rejoice, pray and being thankful are some of the most important lessons we could put into practice as we live in the present and look forward to the future. When you are in difficulty please put these thoughts into practice.
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7, NLT.
