I have enjoyed these past 16 years working with you all as we have ministered to each other and to the community and to places as far away as Cambodia. Kay and I have loved being here and have been wonderfully accepted by you all. Thank you for this act of grace. I have been helped enormously by patient leaders who have always supported and prayed for me. Thanks to all the Elders and Deacons for your guidance and leadership. Ministering alongside evangelists like Rangi, Jim, Brian T, Nigel, Doug, Julia, Trish , Phil, Roger and others, has also been time well spent. I valued my years with experienced people now passed on like Norma, Iris, Thelma, Max and Norm. Keeping our interest in overseas mission, thanks to Rae and Pauline B. Thanks to those on the prayer team each Monday led by Ken. Tuesdays have been such a key part of every week. Thanks to the start given by Malcolm and Kim followed on by Hazel and her team along with Joylene and Steve B and many others. The wonderful Soup nights begun by Pauline and her team. The maintenance and other tasks done behind the scenes by Ron and Lily, Alick, Ross, Janice, Sally, Paul, Len, Malcolm, Barrie, Heather and Terry. Incredible! The music provided by David, John, Ross, Glenys, Bradley and Sally has been much appreciated along with all the song leaders and the worship leaders. The computer magically worked by Gavin and Robert, the Website creatively done by Ray and now Meg and especially the Link each week done faithfully by Kim. All of those who helped our shop to be such a success over so many years. Well done. The amazing success of the shoeboxes thanks to Glenys and Alick, and so many others and now looked after by Nicole and Fiona and their team. The wonderful patient teaching many leaders have given to our children over the years. You have all worked so hard.

I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to minister freely in other places like the local school, the RSL and through the CMA to other motorcyclists in the name of Jesus. I have very much valued the privilege of being the minister here at Hampstead Gardens Church of Christ. The Australia we live in, is not as receptive to Jesus as it once was, but our mission is to always share with others what Jesus has done for us. Each of the younger members are unique and special, full of energy, a great help to us as we consider being Church to others in 2024. I am thankful that God doesn’t wait till we have it altogether before He uses us for His Kingdom work. I pray that you will never give up being a follower of Jesus. Abraham could have given up on the promise of many descendants but he kept his faith in God’s Word. We must do the same.

“In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.” He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.” Romans 4:18-21, ESV.

As we reflect on the difficulties that Churches face today remember this quote, “Don’t be part of the problem, be part of the solution!” Your faith in Jesus helps the faith of others. Apologies for missing out on so many names that could be added, your help is invaluable, everyone of you. Your journey is a powerful witness for others to follow Jesus. Remember that it is all about Jesus. God bless you.
