One of the things that has often been thrown at Christians is that they have to live under so many rules, yet there is freedom in following Christ.
“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1, ESV.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17, ESV.
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behaviour. Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31-32, NLT.
Imagine what the news on TV would be like if there was no “bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behaviour” in our world? It would contain lots of good news stories otherwise there would be very little to report about. This is the ideal but because most people have turned away from following Jesus, there is no shortage of disturbing news each. Living like this is no life. Live by following Jesus as your number one priority and be thankful that you are forgiven. But remember it is God who judges not us.
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37, ESV.
Live today in the freedom that forgiveness brings.
