When I was 8 years of age I remember a Scottish man from the Bible Society who spoke to some of the students at the Butler Primary School and he told exciting Bible stories and we all sang Jesus songs while sitting on a large mat. He asked us if we would like a copy of the New Testament. My brother and I put up our hands and we received the Bible and he prayed for us, (I still have my copy today). I felt a warm glow in my heart that I could not explain. I know that the Holy Spirit showed me an abundance of His grace that day.

I can recall listening to a message that was preached in Tumby Bay when I was 13. I was so moved that I spoke to the minister after the service with more questions and he helped me greatly. I think back to that night and I can remember thinking that there was an active presence of God in that place which I later came to understand that the Holy Spirit was calling me.

On the Day of Pentecost, Peter preached a message that was very powerful and inspired. He was obviously full of the Holy Spirit. His message touched a chord with all the listeners and many of them were challenged.

Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. Acts 2:37-42,ESV.

God is calling you today, are you listening? Respond to Jesus right now by repenting, asking for forgiveness and allow Him to be your Saviour and Lord.
