Walk with Jesus: Learn to Keep Walking
The heading to our walking with Jesus theme today is “Learn to keep on Walking”. We have all watched as young toddlers take those first tentative steps from crawling to walking with encouragement.
But, what if the child in question decided that it was too hard, “I don’t want to walk I am happy crawling – I still get the things I want”. Then there are the times when a child is just too tired to walk and the parents will carry them. How often have you said to your child “Not far now, keep on going!”
It is the same in our Walk with Jesus. Some fall by the way because they don’t want to keep going – they feel they are doing OK as they are. Sometimes the things in life become too much and they give up.
In our daily walk with Jesus we need to allow him to walk beside us, encouraging us and giving us the strength to carry on. There is so much in the Bible that can encourage us any situation we find ourselves in. We need to listen to the message and take it in and apply it.
As a Christian community we can help and encourage each other in so many different ways. It helps make a tough road a little easier.
There are always going to be times that the road is rough or that we are tired and dispirited. Stress and worry are things that everyone goes through and we all need encouragement to learn that Jesus is right there beside us and He will help us to keep on walking.
