The greatest gift of all for us is the love of Jesus for this world and that is usually best celebrated around Christmas and Easter. One of the most wonderful things we can do is to represent Jesus by showing love to others and by giving a gift to a child who doesn’t know anything about the true meaning of Christmas. This coming weekend we will be remembering what Jesus has done by gathering our shoeboxes together to distribute to children in places throughout the world where Jesus is not known. Thank you for everything that you have done to make this feat possible. Mary knew there was something very special about the baby Jesus and all that happened at that time as we read in the following verses.

“When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.” Luke 2:15-20, ESV.

Of course the best thing to do if you can is to TELL people about Jesus and why He is the greatest gift of all.
