It is not always apparent to children how much their parents love them and that they make sacrifices for them. Sadly, many parents fall into the trap of working harder for more money for more benefits for their children when all along, the children simply need the attention and love of their parents. Children need to know they are loved with practical things like good food, clothing and a home for protection from harm. But the greatest thing children need is the loving time spent with them.
“When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son. The more they were called, the more they went away; they kept sacrificing to the Baals and burning offerings to idols. Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk; I took them up by their arms, but they did not know that I healed them. I led them with cords of kindness, with the bands of love, and I became to them as one who eases the yoke on their jaws, and I bent down to them and fed them.” Hosea 11:1-4
I have enjoyed the Wednesday services as we have gone through the Bible with an overview of each book. We are up to Daniel now and we have learnt a few key things. God has a plan of salvation for His people and is very patient with His people. God does not tolerate sin and does not like it when His people turn to worshipping idols. However, the overriding theme is one of grace, mercy and especially love. Our Lord really does love us and He wants us to walk with Him
