Can you remember a time when you were not permitted to do something,   go somewhere or be with someone? Living with restrictions is frustrating. Many in the world have experienced this over the past 18 months and many are still struggling to find freedom due to the constraints because of COVID. Living within strict boundaries is one thing but to live with no hope is beyond comprehension. But there is hope thanks to Jesus. Paul writes the following to the Gentiles in Ephesus.

Remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated  from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off, have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”    Ephesians 2:12-13, ESV.

Our freedom has a cost and it is the blood of Jesus. Be thankful for what  Jesus has done for us. Share the message of salvation with those you meet. Live your life like you have been set free, not like one who is dragging a chain tied to a fence post. Your joy should be compelling to all who know you. Paul went on to describe our current blessing thanks to Jesus.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” Ephesians 2:19.
