ἡ γὰρ ἀποκαραδοκία τῆς κτίσεως τὴν ἀποκάλυψιν τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ ἀπεκδέχεται.
I attended the funeral on Monday of a Minister colleague of mine named Col Heslop. What I did not know was that he had many friends from many different circles formed in his 53 years. There would’ve been approx 500 people at his service. They heard the gospel presented as well as Col’s tattoo interpreted which was in Greek. It is featured above and it is from Romans chapter 8, verse 19. “The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next.”
This was read out from The Message version of the Bible and many of the people who went listened to many other verses being read also from Romans 8 and would have been greatly challenged. Col lead his life as a tremendous witness for Jesus and always got involved in the lives of the people around him and he always presented Christ to them and pointed them to a better way of living. He presented the Good News of Jesus. He had a hard life at times and identified with people doing life tough. Here are more verses that were read from Romans 8.
“We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the
Romans 8:17-19, The Message
hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good
times with him! That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between
the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world
itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next.”
