Last Sunday we looked at Revelation 5 and how we have a Saviour who is described as a Lamb that was slain and yet standing and we reflected on the promise that He alone is worthy to take the scroll. In Revelation 6 we have a detailed description of the opening of 6 of the 7 seals that are on the scroll. As we read about the details of each seal being dealt with, it is good for us to remember that it is God who is Lord of history and man’s activities. The Book of Revelation is not easily understood. Perhaps we could re-read a portion from the message last Sunday.
We are all wired a little differently……
1 Some of you are interested in the past, history is their thing
Interest in your family history and world history
You love the OT stories especially Genesis
2 Some of you live in the now, have to see the news & Facebook
You pack a lot into each day
You read the Bible to know how to live today
3 Some of you are fascinated with what is yet to happen
You are concerned for life for the next generation
You love Daniel, the OT prophets and Revelation
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” 1 Peter 4:10, ESV.
We overlap of course but we do have a slight bias and many do not focus on the matters concerning the future nor do they warm to some of those who do. Yet Jesus’ teaching about the end times is a prevalent
theme in the New Testament. I pray that God will bless you as you read Revelation for yourself.
