Kay and I have twin grandchildren who were born 8 years ago today. Sam and Violet are a delight to their grandparents, their parents and
sometimes even to their older sister. I have a video of the twins, each one eating a piece of cake on their 3rd birthday. Violet is not happy that Sam is making a mess all over his face so she grabs a cloth and cleans his face, repeatedly. This makes priceless viewing as Sam takes it in his stride as if that is why he has a twin sister.

As we reflect on other children who we may have spent time with as a child we can easily come to a range of opinions about how helpful or how unhelpful they were at times! The Bible teaches us to care for those in our family and to care for those in our Church family. A powerful verse in 1 John 3 speaks about how we are to act toward those whom we call our brothers and sisters.

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3:16
