Trusting you have a happy Christmas Day and a fulfilling new year. Worship Jesus
everyday but this week give special thanks that Jesus has come as a baby, experienced
life as a boy and grew up into manhood. Give thanks that Jesus gave His life so that we
may be free from the punishment for our sin. Try not to get distracted from what is
important by unnecessary activities the extra stresses due to things that are out of your
control.

The time leading up to Christmas is often known as the busiest week of the year. We tend
to panic buy but be aware that most grocery stores are only closed for 2 days. As a Postie
it was a very busy time leading up to Christmas trying to deliver the massive volume of
Christmas cards. Today many more parcels are being posted and it seems the larger
volume is causing delays for delivery. As a farmer it was always nice to finish harvest by
Christmas which didn’t happen that often, but today with bigger machines, harvesting
is completed quicker.

It is a special time of year for most people, but for some it can be a difficult time of year.
Be kind to yourself. Be aware of others. Pray for our Church family. Pray for your own
family. Pray for humility for yourself.

“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he
was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but
emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the
point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and
bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every
tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Philippians 2:5-11, ESV.
