Hi everyone. I am currently in a place called Narromine near Dubbo. I’m in the tent as I type this out on my phone and it’s not too bad here but it would be great if it was a bit warmer. The days are nice which has made for some good riding. Thank you for your prayers for Phil and I and many others as we ride to Hervey Bay for the CMA national run which is being held this weekend and we plan to be home by Aug 19. We have met many people on the road and we’ve been able to give out some CMA Bibles and it makes me think of how important the work of the Gideon‘s is and we welcome Brian today as he shares some stories about the value of God’s Word.
We gave away some bibles to a couple who live in Condobolin. They were happy to read the testimonies and will pass them on. They told us what it has been like living there over the past 12 months due to the floods through New South Wales, they were one of the towns that had no road access for nearly 6 months and had to have everything flown in by helicopter. God has helped them through that time and they are attending a church in town. Please pray for Ellen and Russell.
Ellen, who is indigenous, grew up in Bourke and she told me that her father was in the local pub intoxicated and a Gideon man witnessed to him about Jesus. Ellen’s father laughed it off but sometime later he was in the town cells and that same Gideon man bailed him out and spoke to him further about Jesus. That indigenous man followed Jesus from that moment on and raised his family to do the same.
